Removing derogatory status

Posted on: 24th Sep, 2012 01:10 am
Do you have any idea on removing derogatory status on credit accounts? All these derogatory items (7 of them) were included in bankruptcy. I cannot get them changed. Apart from these, all the other accounts show closed/current and/or iib. I'm just interested to see if anyone has any thoughts on this.
Hi Guest,

As all these accounts were included in the bankruptcy filing, it will be better if you can ask the lender/creditor to update the account status as "included in bankruptcy". However, you may not remove the negative item from your credit report.

Thanks

Hi Guest!

Welcome to forums!

Any negative item will remain mentioned in your credit report for 7 years. So, though it is updated as "included in bankruptcy", the derogatory items will remain mentioned in your credit report.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
