Hello... I need help. I filed a dispute with Experian over the phone about 17 days ago. I noticed that there wasn’t any notation or comment attached to the dispute that I filed. Does Experian always add a comment mentioning "under investigation" etc. while the dispute is on? Basically I'm trying to see if my dispute has been verified since it does not have a comment such as investigating added. I haven't received anything in the mail as of yet. Thanks.
Hi Nelly,
As far as I know, the credit bureaus are supposed to update what is called your Compliance code. This will indicate the status of their compliance with a dispute filed under the FCRA. However, you should note that the compliance code indication of a pending dispute has a temporary affect on your credit score. So, ifnot mentioned in your credit report, it means that it has not affected your score.
Take care

Welcome Nelly,
I agree with what Sara has said. Normally, the credit bureaus will mention the disputed status in your credit report once you dispute an account with them.
