Dispute items now??

Posted on: 05th Jun, 2012 01:23 am
I would like dispute 4 accounts that each have one 30 days late listing. 3 of them show that I was 30 days late in Nov. 2011. The other account shows that I was late in Oct 2011. All of these accounts are currently open. I read that you should wait to dispute late payments for 18 to 24 months, as it is less likely they will get verified. Is there any harm in trying to dispute these now, and if it doesn't work, trying again later?
Hi Bonbo!

Welcome to forums!

Well, I haven't heard any such rule which states that you need to wait for 18 - 24 months in order to dispute the negative items mentioned in your credit report. I will suggest you to dispute it immediately so that you can get rid of them asap.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi Bonbo,

I agree with what Sussane has said. If you wish to dispute the negative items, you can do it right away. You can contact the credit bureaus in order to dispute the negative items as mentioned in your credit report.

Thanks
