I was approved a credit card. The credit card company told me that my score is 634. I want to know whether or not this is my Experian score that I received from them. When I checked experian.com, my score is 648. Which one is the correct?
You will have to speak to the credit card company in order to find out the name of the credit bureau from where they have pulled your credit score. This will let you know whether or not the credit score is from Experian. There are chances that your score can be of some other credit bureau.
Consumers don't have access to Experian-based FICO scores anymore, but lenders do. The score you're looking at via Experian is a "FAKO" score, so don't expect it to be the same as the score your lender will pull, even if they are pulling an Experian-based score.
Scores received from the credit bureaus aren't FICO scores. The only way for a consumer to see the exact same FICO scores I'm going to see, is by obtaining them at www.myfico.com
