first time home buyers credit

Posted on: 13th Feb, 2011 04:28 pm
Hello, in 2009 I purchased a home with my inlaws which was the first home I have ever had my name on but it is not A home i have ever lived in. In April 2010 I purchased my primary residence. Will I qualify for the first time homebuyers credit seeing as how this is my primary home?
Hi terib,

If your name is mentioned in the property deed which you purchased with your in-laws, then you won't be considered as a first time home buyer when you purchased your new home.
