Hello… Thanks for this forum. I went out of the country for 1.5 months. During this time, I missed 1 payment on my lease. I called them and asked them to remove it as it has never happened before and they said it's not possible as it's been sent to the credit reporting agencies already. Anything I can do to fix this problem?
You can pay off the delinquent amount and ask them to update the status of the account in your credit report. However, it is true that any negative item will remain in your credit report for the next 7 years.
Hi Ken!
Welcome to forums!
If you have paid off the account, then they need to update the payment information to your credit report. If they don't do so, then you may take help of an attorney and take his help in this regard.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

The payment was late and it was reported late.
The late payment can be removed only if the company to which you make the lease payments agrees to do so.
It is up to them. They can process to remove the late payment, but, only if they agree to do so.
Just because you "only missed one payment' is not a reason to remove the late payment.
A reason would be that they agree because they value your relationship and business and hope to make the next lease with you.

You can't do anything now. The negative item will remain in your credit report for 7 years.
