Hi there. I have a BofA account which has been paid off. But now a collection agency is coming after me for the same debt. How can I get rid of this? What letters do I have send?
Hi Swampy,
If you have paid off the debts, then I'm sure you have documents related to that. You can fax a copy of those documents to the collection agency and ask them to not contact you any further as you owe nothing.
Thanks

Hi Swampy!
Welcome to forums!
You can contact the collection agency and send them a debt validation letter. If they cannot validate the debt, then you won't be liable for paying the debt. Moreover, you can also ask them to not contact you any further.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

The final statement from Bank of America, showing its paid in full. If you don't have it, contact the bank and request a "release" letter.
