CREDIT REPORT SAYS HOME REPOSSESSED, BUT TITLE IS STILL IN MY NAME.

Posted on: 15th Sep, 2010 02:05 pm
We lost our home last june 2009, our credit report shows the house as being forclosed or repossessed, the bank charged off the debt in dec 10, 2009, we received two letters telling us that the home was being sold at auction in oct 2009.

As of today, the home is still in our name, and i am getting property tax bills, and notices from the fire department for weed abatement.

I have contacted the office of the controller of currency, who is supposed to control the national banks, and filed a claim with them last may 2010, and i call and call and they have done nothing.

Any suggestions?
Welcome beerwagon,

If your property has already been sold off at an auction, then you're not the owner of the property any longer. The property tax bills and other notices regarding the property should not bother you. You should contact the tax department and the fire department and let them know about the fact and ask them to stop sending you the notices.
