My father needed a car around 8 years ago and did not have the required credit. So, I gave him my car and I made him the contact for the lease, but he was 120 days late for 9 months and I didn't know it. So, my credit score of 780 went away into the trash. At that time, I did not bothered much. But now, I want to improve my scores. Please let me know how I can do it.
Hi Crystal,
Late payments have a severe negative impact on a person's credit score. You should try and pay off your debts on time. Try avoiding late or partial payments. You should also negotiate with your creditors and check out whether or not they will remove the negative information from your credit report.
Take care.

In addition to making the payments, you need to have enough patience. For it takes quite a lot of time to see any real and great improvement in the credit score.
