Add joint co-owner to the card

I have recently applied for a BofA card and an Amex Card and got them. Both of these accounts are individual accounts. Can I call and add a co applicant/joint person? Please note that I don’t mean an authorized user. If a co-owner is added to the card, ill that mean that both financially liable?
You can give the respective banks a call and add a person to your card who will be considered as the co-owner of the card. May be you and the other person will have to fill out some forms in this regard. Once the person becomes the co-owner of the card, he/she will be considered as financially liable for the card.

Yes, you can apply to add someone as a joint-account holder and then you will both be financially responsible for the credit card.

The joint holder will also need to be approved by the bank

If they have bad credit, they'll more than likely be denied as a joint holder
