Hi there!! I have two judgments mentioned in my credit report. The first is from Citibank with whom I have an unpaid balance of $6,000. This was written off in my bankruptcy. Can I get this account removed from my credit report? I also owe a small debt to our local dentist. The service was incurred prior to filing Ch. 7, but the judgment was recorded after filing. I know that I can have these judgments vacated if I pay them off but how can I get them removed under these circumstances?
Hi Culin,
A judgment is a negative item and will remain in your credit report for 7 years. You won't be able to remove it from your credit report. However, you can negotiate with your creditor and it will be his discretion whether or not he will consider your request and delete the account from your credit report.
Thanks,
Jerry

As far as I know, under no circumstances you will be able to remove those negative items from your credit report. As Jerry has stated, after 7 years, those items will fall off your credit report.
