I disputed everything negative on my TU report. I have an old account with a credit union, this account was deleted years ago on EX and EQ. Now the credit union sends a nasty letter telling me to contact them or they will seek legal action. This account is due to fall off in early 2013. I have a feeling they are going to renew this account and start collection action. What should be my next course of action? I live in AZ and my SOL is 6 years.
Hi Rhonda,
If 6 years are already complete, then you should avoid paying them any amount now. If the SOL period gets over, the creditor or the collection agency won't be able to take any legal actions against you.
Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Rhonda!
Welcome to forums!
Even if they send the account to collections, you will not be bound to pay them if the SOL period is over. Moreover as Jerry has said, after the SOL gets over, they won't be able to take any legal actions against you.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
