In Illinois can a payday loan company take a lien on a car without writtin notification. Actually after this car was paid off, I never put the title into my name, because the car broke down and I could not drive it. so I do not understand how this could have happened?
Hi worried!
Welcome to forums!
In order to place a lien on your car, the payday lender will have to file a lawsuit against you and get a judgment. Unless he has done so, he won't be able to place a lien on that car.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

It is nice that you have cleared all outstanding dues on the car. Now, whether you make delays in putting the title into your name is your disccretion. No company can now legally place a lien on the car.
Can a payday loan get a lien for a car that has been paid off before you got the loan and has nothing to do with the loan?
Hi rad,
If the payday lender is legal in your state and if they have a judgment against you, then he will be able to place a lien on the free and clear car.
Thanks
