I am up to my neck in credit card bills. Have used them for survival during period with no income. (100% disabled and on SSA and SSI now). Can credit card companies lien my vehicle? (I need it for my wheelchair and oxygen).
Hi becschweitzer,
If you are unable to pay off the credit card debts, then the creditor can sue you and place a lien on your vehicle. However, in order to place a lien, he will first have to get a judgment against you. I would suggest you to negotiate with your creditor for a payment plan which can help you in paying off the dues. This will in turn help you in protecting your vehicle.
Thanks
