My wife and I purchased a house in April but I have yet to see it show up on our credit reports. Is there something else that I need to do to get this to report or does it just takes a while?
Hi Cole,
You can contact your lender and ask him to update the mortgage account and its updated status to the credit bureaus. Unless the lender reports it to the bureaus, you won't find it mentioned in your credit report.
Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Cole,
I agree with what Jerry has said. You should contact your lender and ask him to report it to the credit bureaus. If he reports your correct payments to the credit bureaus, it will have a positive impact on your credit score.
Thanks

Absolutely. You must take initiatives to bring that in your credit report. If you make regular payments, it will affect your credit score positively.
It could take a while, especially if you closed the loan with a mortgage banker and they have 90 days to sell the loan to a Lender and it may take that Lender another 30 to 60 days to start reporting to the credit bureau.
Then again, not every Lender is REQUIRED to report to the credit bureau.
The only way you can get a definitive answer is to call the Lender and ask if they report to the credit bureaus and, if so, when will it start.
