Lost Social Security Card

How to recover your lost social security card
Hi Chandan,

You should visit the social security office and place an order for a new card. The social security number will remain the same, though. The Social Security Administration never charges for the services they offer.

Thanks,

Jerry

Hi Chandan!

Welcome to the forums!

I agree with what Jerry has said. You can contact the Social Security Administration and submit the other required documents in order to get a duplicate Social Security card for yourself.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Before you go on with the process of replacing your lost social security card, you should first report the loss to the authorities, to the banks and to the credit bureaus just to be safe. Once you have contacted them, prepare all the necessary documents that the social security will need such as proof of identity and proof of citizenship or immigrant status if you are not a US citizen. Then, complete the required form. When you have all the requirements, you can simply mail them or drop them off your local social security center. It is best that you visit "lostcard.com/get-a-quick-replacement-for-your-lost-security-card". The site contains detailed information of the steps and other helpful tips to make sure that the replacement process goes on smoothly and hassle-free.
