I know about the 7 year rule but is it worth asking or any chance the Credit Bureaus or CC companies if they would delete or move the now paid off accounts to the positive instead of the negative items on my credit report. I have paid off two accounts that I once had gotten behind on.
Welcome db,
You can contact your credit card company and request them to report the delinquent accounts as "paid as agreed". In case, if you've paid those accounts in full, then they can report is as "paid in full". This would help you in improving your credit score to some extent.

It will probably start showing as current goign forward, but the history will remain on your report for 7 years.
So in your report it will show when you were late on payment
There is reason for credit reports, lenders want to knwo how responsible you were in the past, not only today.
Good luck and feel free to ask
