Looking at my credit report on Experian I see I have a open account with account number 600790052457XXXX. It was opened on 11/1/1997. I do not know the last 4 digits but this is what shows up on my credit report. It states that the account is still ative with a $6,300 credit limit. My last report was May 2000 for you guys. I have no idea who you guys are or why I even opened up the account. Please lt me know how about finding out what account this was. I can provide you with any personal information you require. Please give me a phone number I can call you guys.

You will have to contact the bank with which you have this account. I think your credit report will mention as to with whom you have this account. You can contact that particular bank and resolve the issue.

I think that it is a credit card number. The last 4 digits have been blocked as a privacy measure. Now, this account was opened in 1997 and shows that you still have $6300 credit limit. So, you need not worry because there is no outstanding debt against the credit card number. Now since there is no credit history against the card, you can call up the credit card company that appears in your report against the account, and close the card. Closing this credit card will not affect your credit score.
