did i make my credit report worse

In 2004 I had a problem in which I was unable to pay my minimum payment of my CC. I was three months late and I contacted the credit agency. When I explained my situation to them they suggested that I settle my account so I settled my $1161 balance for less than the full amount at $700. Until now my credit report has shown "Account paid in full for less than the full balance".

I recently spoke with my banker and he suggested that I could pay the remaining $461 that was originally owed and had an "Account paid in full" on my credit report which would be much better so I did so.

Now my credit report is saying "Charge off" with one agency, "Account legally paid in full for less than the full balance" with another, and the other doesn't even have it listed anymore. Along with this, my credit score went down with the first two agencies and up with the one that is not reporting it. So I contacted the credit agency and they stated that they would send a letter to change it to "Charge off - paid in full in 2010".

Why are my first two credit scores down? I thought I "Paid in full" and now they are attaching "Charge Off" to it. Also, why is one of the agencies not reporting anything? Is the new letter the credit agency is sending out going to help me or potentially hurt me because now the third agency will report the derogatory information that they are not reporting at this time? What is going on here??!!

Thanks in advance for any advice, this is so confusing!!
your account was reaged like if the account was charged off RECENTLY
if you make a payment to an old chargeoff the item is reaged...and the credit company will drop your score

i would see if they would delete it
