CREDIT PROBLEMS AND SCORE

Posted on: 03rd Sep, 2009 03:02 am
I have had an auto financed 4 1/2 yrs with Peak 5. Peak 5 ceased operation on July 10, 2009. Another company took over my loan. I am in the process of trying to purchase a home. I have been working on getting my credit up (after a divorce) so I can purchase a home. My lender pulled my credit report last week on 8/25/09. My 4 1/2 yrs of GREAT payment history was on there. I pulled my own credit report on 9/2/09 and my payment history was GONE! I called Equifax to find out my this was removed. They told me they checked their records and Peak 5 has never been on my credit report. I told them I am looking at my report from last week (which they emailed to me since they corrected a dispute for me) and Peak 5 is on my report. They argued with me. I spoke with 3 different people, 2 being supervisors and they all tell me the same thing. They told me I had to call Peak 5 and request my info be sent to Peak 5. I told them you don't understand, I can't call them they closed the doors on July 10, 2009, phone has been disconnected. The new company that took over my loan has tried to help but they can't report anything other than the last 3 months of payments I have made to them. This is normal? What do I do? I have now lost 41/2 yrs of GREAT payment history. My Equifax credit score went from a 608 to a 594. PLEASE HELP ME! I have searched the net and can't find anything. I have called so many people and they all tell me they have never heard of this! I need a response.....PLEASE and tell what to do!!!
It is quite surprising to me that your payment history was removed from the credit report. This is something which I had never heard off. You have mentioned that when your lender pulled your credit report on 8/25/09, the payment history was on it. You need to get a copy of that credit report and contact the credit bureaus. Also, you can contact an attorney and take his opinion in this regard.

I think you have to contact credit bureaus but before that you have to consult with lender about the matter.

I have contacted the Equifax (they are the ones that say it has been removed). They are the ones that keep telling me to call the creditor and I keep explaining they have closed and have disconnected their phone. I do have a copy of my credit report from Equifax dated 8//25/09. They emailed it to me. But they still continue to say "this account has never been on your report". My lender can't help. They say I have to get this cleared up with Equifax.

Hi soulshine,

It is true that your current lender will not be able to help you in this regard. In my opinion, if you feel that Equifax is not co-operating with you, then you can contact an attorney and dispute the case with the credit bureau.

Yes adonis thats correct. But as stated above you need to contact the last lender about the payment history as they should have records.
