Hello… I need some help and want to know if I can do this!! I received a dunning letter today for a medical bill. Has anyone sent a PFD and a DV at the same time? Would it not be easier to delete than to validate?
Hi Shannon,
I don't think it will be a good option to send a PFD and a DV letter at the same time. You should send a DV letter to the collection agency and ask them to validate the debt. If they are able to validate your debt, then you can negotiate for a payment plan and request for a PFD.
Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Shannon!
Welcome to forums!
I agree with Jerry's opinion. You shouldn't send both the letters together. You should first validate the debt in order to find out whether the collection agency really owns the debt account and then you can negotiate with them to know whether or not they will offer you a pay for delete.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.
