I had a furniture account mentioned in my credit report which had positive history. Few days back, I noticed that this positive item has dropped from my credit report!! I thought positive histories were to remain on reports for quite some time. How can these just disappear?
Hi Nathaley,
As far as I know, an old item which does not get reported for quite sometime may get deleted by the credit reporting agency.
Thanks

Positive tradelines should remain on your credit report forever. However, maybe one of the credit bureaus never reported the tradeline - that's possible. Sometimes only one credit bureau reports a tradeline, sometimes two, but most of the time all three report it. If you don't see it on one report, it could be on one of the others. But it should never get removed.
