What range of credit score must my husband and myself have to qualify for a mortgage loan.

In order to get a conventional loan, you and your husband should have a credit score of 700-720. On the other hand, in case of FHA loans, you and your husband should have a score of 580 - 620.

Varies a tad by lender.... but:
640 for fha/va
680 for conventional unless you have 20% down, then you can get a oan at 620 but it costs a lot of points.
