I've gotten all but one of my baddies off my CR - I'm pretty sure the last one will be deleted within the next thirty days also. I also recently took out a Cap One Secured card and today when I got the credit alert that the account had finally been reported to TU, and EQ I pulled my CR to see my Fico score and it dropped! This was shocking as I was on the brink of hitting 700 and after the Cap One card reported my score dropped 75 points! I'm sure this is probably normal, I'm assuming once on time payments start getting reported each month, I'll recoup those points within a few months time?
Hi Sasha,
Taking out a secured credit card will have an initial impact on your credit. However, reduction of around 75 points is too much. You should check your credit report carefully and check if there are any other changes in it.
Thanks,
Jerry
