Does credit report reflect your character in any way?

Your credit report is a reflection of what you actually are. Your
attitude, personality and psychological characteristics get reflected
in your report card. The negative items in your credit report
imply that you made some wrong financial moves earlier. The
defaults and late payments which adversely affect your credit
score mean that distinct signs of indiscipline have already crept
into your financial behaviour. It is often seen that many of have
poor credit score despite having good income. It may be because
of the reason that you were extravagant and made some imprudent
financial moves. Again, many of you with comparatively less
income have good credit score. This is because of the reason that
you were financially responsible and made wise moves. Your
financial moves are replications of your typical psychological
characteristics. Your credit report is indeed a reflection of your
character.

Hi there… I have a query. Hope someone here will be able to help me. I need to know if your credit report reflects your character in any way. I have gotten confusing answers from people around me!!
Yes, I am agree with this that credit report somewhat reflects your character. If you are financially indisciplined, make defaults and have blemished credit history, then all these get reflected in your credit score. On the other hand, if you have good credit score, it implies that you ae financially responsible and do not make imprudent financial moves. Your financial behavior replicates your persona and character.

Hi Savio!

Welcome to forums!

A credit report is a proof of your financial stability or instability. If you have too many unpaid debts or other bills, it may give an impression that you can't handle or manage your financial situation well. In such a situation, if you apply for a job, the employer may think that you won't be able to manage the job in the organization as well.

Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

Hi Savio,

I agree with what Sky and Sussane has said. A credit report does reflect your character to some extent. In today's market situation, most of the employers will go for a soft pull of your credit report in order to check out how you manage your finances. It gives the employer a clear idea of what type of a person you are.

Thanks

Are employers allowed to pull credit to check how we manage our credit?

Welcome Nannny,

It is neither mandatory for the employers to do so nor all the employers pull credit. However, some lenders do so. As a soft pull does not affect the credit of the concerned person, employers can pull your credit report without any issues.

Hi Nannny,

I agree with what Adonis has said. It is not mandatory for lenders to pull your credit when you apply for a job. However, when you apply for a senior position or managerial position in a big organization, there are chances that they will go for a soft pull. You can't say that it is illegal if they pull your credit as a soft pull won't affect your credit scores in any way.

Thanks,

Jerry
