How to remove the account from credit report

Posted on: 11th Jan, 2012 12:45 am
I'm really glad that I found this forum. Hope I can get a solution to my problem here… I'm trying to rebuild my credit so that I can get a good interest rate when I apply for a mortgage to buy a car at the end of this year. I noticed a charged off account and I also had a collection account on my report for the same but it fell off in July, 2011. However, from the end of the creditor, the account is still mentioned in my credit report. I guess I need some advice on how I should go about this. I know this is a charge off but it never falls off and when I contact the original creditor, they say its in collections and they cant do anything. Any advice or suggestions?
Hi Savio,

You will have to contact your credit bureaus individually and dispute the item with them. This might help you in removing this negative account from your credit report.

Thanks,

Jerry

If your scores are ok.... and this is the only blemish.... it might not have any affect on your rate.
approval is approval. lenders dont start tagging on fees or add to the rate for specific credit report entries.
