I am applying for HARP 2. But there is a dispute mentioned in my credit report. Now, how do I remove a dispute from a collection? The mortgage company has no problem with an old collection on my CR, but says I need to get rid of the dispute itself. What should I do?

You will have to contact your credit bureaus and apply for dispute removal. They will guide you through the process and let you know what you need to do. Apart from this, you can also contact a credit advisor and he/she can also help you with the process.

You will have to write a dispute removal letter to the credit bureaus in order to remove the disputed item from your credit report. Moreover, if the dispute is resolved in your favor, the credit reporting agency is required to remove or correct the account.
