I'm going through a similar situation. I've been advised by my mortgage company to remove a couple of disputes that I had previously requested for my Equifax report, these were requested to close some old accounts and to update the balance on others, obviously thinking this would be for my credit score advantage. They are concerned that since even though they all have been resolved they might result in been denied when our loan is entered in the FHA system. Anybody going through this situation? Anyway to get this done through Equifax or am I better off going straight to the Account holders, even though they are old accounts? I will appreciate someone's assistance. Thanks!
Hi hbatista,
As far as I can understand your situation, you should contact Equifax and request them to remove the disputed item from your credit report. In case they don't do so, then you should contact your creditor and ask him to remove the disputed item from your credit report.
Thanks,
Jerry
