I paid off one of my collection accounts with Midland Credit Management. I haven't negotiated with them to get the account removed when I paid them. Is it too late to ask them to remove the item from my credit report?
It would have been better if you would have negotiated with Midland Credit Management in order to remove the negative item from your credit report after payments. You should have signed a pay for delete agreement with them prior to the payments. I don't think it will be easy for you to get that item deleted from your credit report now.
Hello verasace,
Make sure your account is up to date before you ask them to remove the mark. Lenders will often make this decision based upon your payment history and the frequency of delinquency.

Hi Versace!
Welcome to forums!
Though I agree with what Niicss has said, I will still suggest you to contact Midland and check out if they can remove the negative item from your credit report as you have already paid it off.
Feel free to ask if you've further queries.

There should not be any outstanding dues before you negotiate with your lender to remove the negative items from your credit report.
First wait for the timeframe they have given you for removing the item from your credit report. Then check your credit report. You can contact or complaint against them if the particular item still remains in your credit report.
