Hi there… I need some clarifications! I was told that first I had to repair my credit with the help of a professional which might take 30 days time. It will repair my credit report. Once that’s done, I will have to take out secured cards to improve my scores. Does this make sense? I only need a higher score; shouldn't I just get the secured cards?
Taking out just one secured card may not help you much in increasing your scores. If you repair your credit as a whole, then the impact will be more.
Hi Perry,
I agree with what Niicss has said. However, you can even check out the given page in order to know some steps to improve your scores: http://www.mortgagefit.com/credit-rating/credit-repair.html .

Hi Perry, Unfortunitly you have not provided enough information on what your credit issues are. Do you have collections, charge-offs, late pays??? As far as the 30 day time frame, this is NOT the norm again depending on the severity of the issues. Federal law allows the credit bureaus 30 days to do there investigation and mail time. It is best to set your expectations at 3 to 6 month min (based on 10 years experience). As far as the secured card I would apply for min of 2 cards then use for 6 months maintaning balance below 20% on the total allowed credit. Then depending on the score increase you can apply for traditional credit card. You will want to have 3 credit cards (non secured) to get best increase in score over time.
