Hi ksavage,

A foreclosure is supposed to stay on your credit report for 7 years. If your property was foreclosed about 10 years ago and it still shows on your credit report, you should dispute it with the credit bureaus. You should have it removed from your report. The Fair Credit Reporting Act does allow you to dispute any wrong or inaccurate information. You can send the credit bureaus a dispute letter and request them to remove the foreclosure information from your credit report.
