Credit report mess

Posted on: 09th Jan, 2013 11:42 pm
i’m in a mess with my credit report. i filed chapter 13 bankruptcy in 2006, 2007, 2008 due to some financial issues. but all these were dismissed for some reason or the other. however, they all are showing up on my credit report and have lowered my scores. what can i do to remove all these items?
Hi Jane,

A dismissed bankruptcy may stay in your credit report for 7 years. Before that, I don't think you will be able to remove it from your credit report.

Thanks,

Jerry

Hi Jane,

A dismissed bankruptcy filing will show up on your credit report. There is nothing wrong or illegal in it. Jerry is right in saying that a dismissed bankruptcy filing will remain mentioned in your credit report for 7 years. You may negotiate with the credit bureaus to remove it but I don't think they will be ready to do so.

Thanks

If your bankruptcy plea is dismissed, your credit score is affected negatively. The negative effect of bankruptcy remains in your report for 7 to 10 years. Automatic stay also gets revoked and leneders can take legal actions against you.
