I need to get a credit report for my rental apartment application. But I cannot get one from any of the credit report site. I do not have any credit which explains why they don't recognize me. So, what should I do?
If you do not have any credit, then it is obvious that there won't be any credit report in your name. You can apply for secured credit cards and maintain them well. The creditors will report them to the credit bureaus and thus your credit report will be generated.
Hi Marlene!
Welcome to the forums!
Apart from the secured cards, you can pay off your utility bills on time, use gas cards and store cards responsibly and ask your creditors to report them to the credit bureaus. This will help you build up your credit report.
Feel free to ask if you have further queries.

Like many others, it sounds as if you are wondering “How do I check my credit score when I have no credit?†Without having any previous credit history there can be no recent score or report for you to access. This makes it difficult when you need credit reports for loans and applications.. You often need good credit already established to get loans and to qualify for lines of credit. This is why it is often a good idea to get a small credit card as soon as you qualify for one and start building your credit before you need loans or other big credit items.
