I have an OC and a CA reporting two different items with the same account number on my Experian report. Is this re-aging? If it is what can I do about it. I already sent the CA debt validation letter but I don't want to be stuck with another negative item on my report.
Hi Brazen,
As far as I know, both the OC and CA can report the same item in your credit report. There is nothing wrong in it. The CA has the account, so it will report the negative information and the OC has charged off the debt, so it can also report the debt.
Take care.

Hi Brazen,
This won't be considered as re-aging. Moreover, as Sara has said, both the OC as well as the CA can report the same item to the credit bureaus. There is nothing wrong in it. If you want to get rid of the negative item, it will be better if you could get in touch with the CA and try to settle the debts and pay it off.
Thanks
