I am 19 year old and have a stable job. I am looking forward to move out of my parents’ home and stay with my BF. But I want to know how to build credit. I don’t have a good credit at present. I have been told to apply for a gas card!

You can take out 1 or 2 secured credit cards initially in order to start building up your credit. A store card or a gas card will also be a good step toward building credit.

I recommend joining a credit union. Once a member, you will be able to get a secured credit card, regular credit cards, personal loans, auto loans and eventually a mortgage loan. Keep a good standing with them and you will build good credit...
