Hi there… I'm a student and I'm attempting to build my credit. I currently have no credit. I recently applied and got a credit card with a local credit union but my father was the co applicant on the application. In such a situation, will I be able to build my credit score?
Hi Ashton,
As you're the primary owner of the credit, this credit card will definitely help you in building up your credit. If you pay your credit card debts on time and in full, you will find that with time you will have a great credit score.
Thanks,
Jerry

Glad to hear you're interested in building your credit at a young age. That's great! And yes, your new credit card will certainly help build your credit scores.
Use it sparingly (use less than 10% of your available credit each month), always pay in full and on time, and your scores will continue to improve with time.

In the current scenario of economic downturn, you need to scrutiny your credit score quite often. Card holders are fervently conscious about approving new loans as they are going to play a pivotal role in their credits above all. Maintaining a good credit score number has become a chief concern for a lot of consumers in the present days.
It is nice that at a very young age you have understood the virtue of maintaining a good credit score. Since you have taken out a credit card, you need to ensure that you do not use that card recklessly. Moreover, if you have used your credit card, you need to ensure that you make regular repayments.
