I am considering asking for a forbearance on my student loan.

Will this have a negative impact on my credit report, when I go to buy my first home?
Hi Curiouscat,

I don't think it will have too much of negative effect on your credit. Actually a forbearance helps you prevent the loan from being reported to the credit agencies as delinquent and thus protects your credit.

no, forbearance won't have a negative impact on your credit standing; it will probably be helpful to you as you seek a mortgage loan.
