can a credit card company put a judgment lien on property that has taxes owed on it. I own the home out right. Due to divorce my finances are shot. I have not paid the taxes. Can a credit company put a lien on a home without the taxes being paid. I can pay the taxes, i was wondering if it would by me some time until I can pay the debt.
Hi nailah.
Welcome to the forum.
Credit card debts are unsecured debt. So they cannot put lien on your personal property. But if this is a judgment then you should have to pay it ASAP and they can even place a lien on the property. BTW tax liens are the given first priority.
Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.
Best of luck,
Larry
