Hard Collection Companies

Posted on: 07th Jan, 2006 01:18 pm
I recently had a conversation with a guy from a company called ApexFinancial, LLC here in Arizona. He informed me that his company has been around for a couple of years now and they deal with purchasing charged off accounts. They bought MBNA, Capital One Bank, Wells Fargo Accounts and private student loan accounts. He seemed very pleased with dropping names on who he bought these account from and how little they paid for each account. So if anyone out there has any one of these accounts this is another name of a Hard Collection Company that will do what Wolpoff and Abramson does.
Wolpoff and Abramson is also opening a call center here in Arizona in the near future.

Bud Hibbs is an attorney who gives the actual truth about these kinds of collection companies.

Bud Hibbs is an attorney? Uhhh...Not even close.

Better yet, do some checking into his own background, available in public records in courts in Texas and in federal court in Phoenix, Arizona. You'll find a plethora of judgments, garnishments, evictions, all sorts of interesting things rendered against him.

Indeed, the man is a hypocrite of major proportions. Accept him for what he is: An unintentional comedian. If you had a grease fire completely out of control in my kitchen, would you call 9-1-1 to solicit expert firefighting advice from a serial arsonist? I wouldn't, but that's just me.

Whoops. Got my pronouns mixed up with the kitchen fire analogy, but you see my point.

Yeah Bud Hibbs is not the attorney but he is an expert in consumer credit and debt collection practices.

But if we look from common people perspective, he is doing the fantastic job. He is giving all the related information about the collection agencies who are doing all kind of manupulation in the industry.

And i totally agree with cliff on Wolpoff and Abramson, they are recognized as the worst debt collectors. I would like to find more information on it and i will post it into this forums.

How can we improve collection in hard buckets
Posted on: 09th Dec, 2006 11:26 pm
Hi Ravees,

Collections agencies usually go for soft collection techniques when a borrower defaults on a loan. For example, at the first default, the debt collector usually contacts the debtor within a few days and reminds him that the payment is due.

However, for debts outstanding for 90 days or even more, collectors go for hard collection techniques. I have heard that some hard collectors even carry dogs with them and let them loose. Such things I believe can be eliminated. Instead, the collector can talk to the debtor directly, understand his situation and how he fell into it.

The debt collector and debtor can then discuss on how to recover the balance. There are hard collection agencies that conform to certain principles without doing anything unlawful.

If you have any related query, please feel free to come up with it.

Thanks,

Caron.

Sounds like this Hibbs fellow knows a lot about these collection companies cause he has been in the situation before...lol

The day a collector would leave a dog loose on me is the day that I would own that company, what country did this happen in? If it is here in the United States, then someone should be suing, this is just unbelieveable. I would not stand for this, I WISH someone would try that with me, just once.

Budd Hibbs puts a lot of good information out there for consumers, some of the best attornies and politicians have all kinds of crap in their closets, best way to learn is by experience and he is teaching people by what he has been through, so who cares what his public record says. I don't know if he is an attorney or not, he has a great website that is very informative for the consumer who is in distress over collections.

Did I miss his website? Or was it there? I would like to take a look at his information.Maybe I could use some of it.Right now I am being jerked around over a hospital bill. One person says I owe it the other says I don't. I would rather believe the one who says I don't owe it.

Just made it to this community and was reading this thread. I can not believe that debt collectors use dogs. I agree with jbarto..I would own that company. Gonna go google the hibbs guy..maybe some info there I can use.

That web site is very informational. I checked it out and it is worth the time to go look. It list all the really bad collection agencies tyo deal with (over 200) and I wasn't surprised to see CACH listed a million time under different names. Thanks jbarto for the info.

I never heard of collections using dogs either.I never heard of them coming to your house.I always thought they just harrass you by phone.
Posted on: 20th Mar, 2008 01:32 pm
Thats what I thought too until I read about it. All I can say there must be some bucks in the business to resort to using dogs as a collection tactic.
Posted on: 20th Mar, 2008 02:59 pm
Yeah, some bucks for me, a big fat law suit if they use dogs to try and collect a debt from me, I can not even image that, they must be studpid, they can not by law use these tactics.
