I live in Illinois. My lender was telling that taxpayers here can now qualify for 30-year fixed rate mortgage loans even if they lack credit history. Any updates?
Hi Shelly,
There is an alternative to the Social Security Number known as Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. This is issued by the Internal Revenue Service.
In Illinois, taxpayers with a lack in credit history can qualify now for a 30-year fixed rate mortgage loan administered by a state agency with the help of this alternative identification number.
God bless you.

In fact many private mortgage lenders use this alternative identification number to qualify applicants for loans.
