Hi Shelly,
Welcome to MortgageFit Forums.
It's very sad to hear about your son. I pray to god for early recovery of your child.
I can understand the difficult phase in your life that you are going through but believe me and my experience with life, time changes for everybody and you will certainly come of this trouble.
I shall advise you to disclose your condition to your creditors and request for their opinion. Good lenders will always try to help their valued customers and suggest a possible alternative term.
None of the lenders would like to see you file a bankruptcy. At least they would appreciate your honest effort to avoid a bankruptcy.
Shelly, you have to keep trying and fortune may favor you. Don't be so disheartened. I strongly believe that you will overcome this problem.
Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. We will be happy if we can help you in some way.
God bless you.

Samantha
