How I m able to fix my personal credit?
Hi Mayade,

It's a good thinking on your part to fix your credit on your own. Don't worry too much if you have bad credit.

Time and a little bit of effort on your part will see you gaining improvements on it.

You may visit this thread to see some tips on credit repair and get back here for further queries.

Hi,

You can fix your credit yourself or can take the help from a credit repair company. There are lots of them and you can even check it online.

Hi Maya,

Welcome to MortgageFit Forums.

You shouldn't think that just because somebody is having poor credit report means that he/she will not be able to get credit. Standards set by different creditors are different and not all of them look at your credit history in the same way. But having a good credit report will help you deal with most of them with a variety of options.

To fix your credit you need to find out the areas in your report where the problem exists. If it is not your fault in some area then you can dispute on it.

But if it is genuine try to find out the reason for the negative mark. Make a strict budget and stick to it until you recover from the trouble. Paying of the outstanding debts should be taken care off. Blue has already mentioned the URL where you can get some earlier discussions on credit repair. You may get useful tips on many websites online.

Going to a credit repair company will not be a very wise decision. Although, there are some non-profit credit counseling organizations that can help you but check their reputation in the market before consulting.

You must be aware that not all the non-profit organization gives frees service to you. Also there are several credit repair companies which will take out money from your pocket and will be stranded where you began.

So, personal effort is always better. Take suggestions from experienced people and give a sincere effort to it. You will certainly come out of the problem.

Feel free to ask if you have further doubts or queries.

God bless you.

Hi,

It is easy to fix your credit but you do have to monitor it. Like what Samantha said you should get on a budget and most important do not use the credit repair companies. You can use myfico or privacy guard and they will alert you should any changes occur or any new inquiries. They charge a minimal fee but it is well worth it. If there are errors to your address or even your name that makes a difference on scoring. I always tell people make sure you know what is on your credit report. Identity theft is a huge problem. It is I believe the number one crime in Phoenix.
