Hi Sarah,
Welcome to MortgageFit Forums.
There are some helpful legal sites where you can check in with your query online.
You can also check with your local bar Association and there you can find a lawyer to help you within limited costs.
For the initial understanding and suggestions you can post your specific query with us so that we can show you a possible way. But you must remember that a legal advice is best given by a lawyer and it's worth to consult him on legal issues even if it costs you some money.
I am interested to know how your boyfriend filed the bankruptcy. Did he hire a bankruptcy attorney as normally others do? If he has already hired an attorney then, he is the best person to guide you.
Feel free to ask if you have any more queries. We will be happy to help you in the best way within our limits.
God bless you.

Samantha

Which state are you in? What kind of bankruptcy has been filed? Since you are not on the loan so, your credit score is not going to be affected but the joint property will have an effect on it as a result of the filing.
i am the owner & payer of my home mortgage. I want to add my daughters name to my deed so if i pass away, she will be the owner of the house.
Hi romaine!
In order to add your daughter's name to the property deed, you will need to sign a quitclaim deed. You can get the quitclaim deed forms online or you can hire an attorney who will draft the deed for you. Check out the following link to know more about the sample quitclaim deed forms:
