How and When Do I Cancel PMI?
In order to cancel your PMI you need to check out whether your home equity have reached 20 percent or not. Once it has reached, it will become easier for you to cancel PMI. You can cancel you PMI by following certain steps. Firstly, determine the estimated value of your home. Secondly, Contact your lender and ask him to order an appraisal so as to determine market value. Lastly, pay your mortgages faster and refinance your loan so that you will not have PMI thus, keeping your credit report healthy.

I filed bankruptcy a few years ago and just found out my house was never reaffirmed I'm still making payments and they are still charging me PMI -can they if technically the loan was discharged?
