What is the courier fee that is included in the closing costs? Is it a genuine inclusion?
This is a fee paid to a courier for delivery of loan documents from the lender.
A courier fee is charged for the overnight services and messenger services for the transportation of documents to and from the lender and also from local courthouse where the mortgage gets recorded.
Most lenders charge this fee under closing costs as during the loan processing, lot of documents are required to transported here to there.

Hi there... I need to know how are courier and overnight delivery fees shown on the HUD-1 Settlement Statement?
Hi Garry Barry.
As fas as I know, courier and overnight delivery fees are considered to be fees for administrative or processing services. Thus, they are a part of the primary service, such as the origination service or title service. As a result, they may not be separately itemized.
Take care

Why is courier fee so impoartnt when we speak of loan closing.
Welcome Guest,
You should note that mortgage courier fee covers the cost of transporting documents to complete the loan transaction as quickly as possible in order to avoid paying additional interest on your mortgage loan. That is why it is important when we speak of loan closing.
