MY HUSBAND IS IN DEEP DEBT BUT STILL CURRENT WITH HIS CREDITORS BEC I WAS HELPING HIM OUT PAY HIS BILLS. WE ARE GOING THROUHG A DIVORCE NOW . WE HAVE A HOUSE TOGETHER AND THE LOAN IS UNDER MY NAME. HOWEVER HE IS ON THE TITLE AND PLANNING TO DO A QUICK CLAIM TO ME THEN FILE FOR A BANKRUPTCY. WHAT WILL BE THE EFFECT OF THIS TO ME?
hi irenedimapilis,
welcome to mortgagefit forums.
it is going to hamper your credit and your husband if it is a joint debt. i think consulting an attorney is appropriate under this circumstance, so that you are not affected in any way. this is a complex situation and should be handled carefully.
so, far your husband is concerned, it doesn't seem to help him much by filing bankruptcy. i think a similar query of your's have been answered in this page.
kindly check and if you still have any problems, you can post it here.
god bless you.

Hi Irenedimapilis,
Getting rid of bankruptcy in a divorce case is a complex situation and should be handled with care. Your husband should find an alternative path and refrain from filing to maintain his credit too.
Take advice from an attorney as it is a sensitive issue.

Blue
