Personal loan on Mobile home

Posted on: 16th Dec, 2005 08:27 am
I am trying to find a personal loan using my Mobile home as collateral. Our Mobile home is paid off and we own it. Value is probably around 55,000.00. We are looking to try to get a 10,000.00 dollar loan for repairs and improvement the only problem is our credit is not well at all. Is there any hope for us. We need a new roof and new windows and other needed work.
I have a newer 2006 32x60 beautiful doublewide. The property its on belongs to my sister. She wont sell the property to me. My credit is not the best its about 560. What can I do about getting a loan to move it. Thanks

It is true that it would be a bit difficult for you to get a loan for your manufactured home. You can contact some of the lenders and check out if they can help you with a loan. Or else, you can apply for personal property loans. However, these loans come at a higher interest rate.

Hi tammyclinch,

It will be better if you could contact a local lender and apply for a mortgage. The lender will go though your financial situation and let you know whether or not you can get a mortgage.

Thanks

We purchased a manufactured home in a park where we do not own the property only the home. The owners agreed to carry the mortgage for three years at which time, Nov. of 2011, it is due a payable in full. We will not be able to pay it off in a year. We are looking to finance what we owe, $26,000. We are two years out of bankruptcy and our credit score is 660. Any sugguestions on what we might do?

hi maryb,

if you had filed chapter 13 bankruptcy and got a discharge 2 years back, then you can apply for a fha loan with a credit score of 660. there are chances that you'll get a mortgage.

Hi AHENRE,

You need to check out whether or not you've equity in your property. If you've equity in your property, then you will be able to get a mortgage worth the value of the property.

Thanks

I own my mobile home and it's in a park. I've lived here for six years It
is a 1962 Great lakes mobile home. I have the title free and clear. I'm
looking to borrow 8,000.00 for repairs and to pay off some bills. I guess
I'm looking for a secured loan I think.

Hi Loretta,

You can take out a normal conventional or FHA loan depending upon your credit score and income and borrow the required amount. If you satisfy all the required criteria of the lender, you will be able to get the loan.

Thanks

we have a brand new 2011 mobile home, lived in about 3 mos. it is completely paid for and worth $39,000. we need a loan of approx $5,000 for repair work to our home & we are paying for our home, we still owe $96,000 on it with a $10,000 home equity loan. our credit scores are in the 500-600 range. we are paying our billls on time now, (we both had medical problems in the past with lots of expense) and we are both on social security retirement. we would be able to pay $300-$350 back as monthly payments. the mobile home is single wide on a permenent foundation.
