First time home buyer and credit score

Posted on: 16th Sep, 2013 03:10 am
Hello there... I am a first time homebuyer and have a credit score of 668. I have 5k saved for down payment and I looking for a mortgage in the range of $90k - $120k. AT present, I earn around $46k a year. Will I be able to buy a home now or should I work on building up my credit score?
With a credit score of 668, you will only be able to get a FHA mortgage. If you wish to qualify for a conventional loan, then you will have to increase your credit scores to 720.
