divorced, remarried, owned house with first husband ,got house in divorce, house never in new husbands name , always my name, can husband qualify for first time home buyer, even though we have been married over 20 years, he wants to purchase a home
If I follow that correctly, you are currently married and you owned a home in the past three years.
Your present husband can not buy a home and get the first time home buyer tax credit because he is married to someone who is not eligible for it--you.
You both may be eligible for the repeat home buyer tax credit if you have lived in the present home 5 oif last 8 years and sell or rent the present home.
