I believe it is an "all or none" scenario. Both borrowers will need to be first time home buyers. Does anyone else have data that supports a different explanation?
Hi annie,
I also believe that both your brother and sister have to be first time home buyers to avail the tax credit. However, if your brother is the only one on the deed to the new house, he can definitely get the first time buyer tax
credit.
Thanks,
Jerry
